Engage NY: Module 3- Lessons 1-5

Hello!

I am quickly stopping by to show a little preview of my Module 3 practice pages!

This module focuses on Measurement and Data (MD) Standards.

Lessons 1-5:
1.MD.1: Order three objects by length, compare the lengths of two objects by using a third object
1.MD.2: Express the length of an object of a whole number of length by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlays

Engage NY Math: Module 2: Lessons 1-5

Hey All!


Have you started teaching the second module in Engage NY yet? I really enjoy this module because it is working on students fluency and efficiency when adding and subtracting within 20. However, things can get a bit confusing in this module. So, I have created some practice pages that can help!

In the first 5 lessons, students are working on:
Lesson 1: Solving word problems with three addends, two of which make ten
Lesson 2: Use the associative and commutative properties to make ten with three addends
Lessons 3-4: Make ten when one addend is 9
Lesson 5: Compare efficiency of counting on and making ten when one addend is 9

My worksheets are print and go and completely align to what is taught in these lessons, to help students get daily extra practice! These are great for homework or math boxes- even small group work with the teacher.

Winter Lessons!

Hey!

Is anyone else already thinking about the winter time? Fall has just begun, but it is never to early to start planning! HA!

This little pack has everything you need to teach the differences in weather! It includes why we have seasons page (this is a great page to go along with the seasons brainpopjr video!), when winter occurs, things to do in winter circle map, a winter tree map, summer and winter sorting page and a whole group seasons sorting activity!

Differentiated Story Problems: 1.OA.A.1

Hey There!

I have just finished a new pack that is directly aligned to the Operations and Algebraic Thinking Standards: 1.OA.A.1.

I LOVE this new pack because the pages can be used over and over again, because they students spin new story problems each time!

There are three levels within each story problem type as well. You can see in the little preview below that the student spins the spinner twice and fill in their problem. Then, they use the read, draw and write method to solve the problem!

The reason I love this spinner idea so much is because once the students finish the worksheet, they can grab a whiteboard and continue spinning and solving new problems! This keeps challenged and engaged through a whole lesson!
